Apache Trail

On Thursday, we went on a LOOOONG drive on to Apache Trail - just outside of Phoenix. We left the hotel around 9:30 and didn't get back until 3:30. It was a bumpy road (very) and pretty curvy. Most of the road was unpaved.
There was a guy pulling a boat in front of us and we couldn't keep up with him. The road here was super curvy and had a pretty intense grade downhill. We stopped at the overlook over Canyon Lake.

The lake was actually decided to swim in was Apache Lake. Big mistake. It was beautiful, but too rocky. David played for about 45 minutes, but Brad and I didn't get in the water.
David likes to dance....as you can see....
When we left Apache Lake we didn't go back the same route but instead continued on to a Highway that was about 20 miles out. We came to Roosevelt Dam.
On the upper side of the dam was this bridge that was built to route vehicles off of the dam.
When we got back to the hotel we swam for a while, then ate dinner at the Salty Seniorita (a local bar/grill) where we watched the Phoenix Suns almost beat the Lakers. It was fun watching the locals cheer on their team. However, David learned a few new words that night.
