Awesome is the new Cool

On the way to school this morning David pointed out a large crane on a construction site. I said "Wow, that's pretty cool"....and he replied "DON'T say that". I asked him why I can't say it's cool. He explained that I should say AWESOME. Apparently I'm not in the in-crowd anymore. Lord, help me.
